Lyzka dziegciu.
He jumps in and leads with his knee. I had to look a few times to make sure that the attacker missed the ball completely, but he did. He jumps at his opponent, misses the ball, and hits his opponent's leg with his knee (upon reviewing, point of contact is probably the shin, sorry). And Gabriel goes to ground immediately; not out of any concern that things were going wrong defensively. It seems a pretty clear foul to me. What's soft about it other than the idea that the subsequent foul is abundantly clear?

Also it is very much worth observing and noting, as @RedStar91 does, that Siebert was always calling this foul. He delayed for VAR protocols in case the ball ended up in the net and he was wrong about the foul. I'm also reading online or hearing that this was defensive refereeing and he invented a foul to avoid calling the penalty. But that is demonstrably false, as you can visually see he had already decided to call the attacking foul before the potential penalty even occurred.

I was suspicious at first glance, but I actually think this was great refereeing.
